Our inaugural Motorcycle “Ride for Dreams” Poker Run will take place on Saturday June 8th 2019 and all net proceeds from this event are directed to the Dreams Take Flight Ottawa chapter to cover the cost of our flight. With your help, we can make dreams come true for all these deserving children!
Message from the President
Dreams Take Flight is a 100% volunteered base national non-profit organization created in 1989. A group of Air Canada employees in Toronto organized a trip that took 70 special needs children on board a DC-9 aircraft to Walt Disney World in Florida.
Fast forward to 1997, when the charity expanded to service eight cities across this great country; Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg, Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal and Halifax each take a plane load of deserving kids to either Disneyland or Disney World for a once in a life time adventure.
The Ride Captain
Some people run marathons. I like to hike mountains and ride motorcycles. To date, I have trained for and climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania twice, Machu Picchu in Peru 2″mes and returning in May 2019 for a third “me. In 2015 we planned to climb to the base camp ofMount Everest, but the day before our climb a major earthquake occurred. Thankfully, we were all okay.We went back to Nepal in 2018 to hike to the base camp of Everest and I have plans to go back in 2020.
